Traditional Greek Night

30/11 Live Greek Night

Welcome to the Greek Cultural Society ‘Ithaca’ webpage

Our society was established in 2018 by Greek residents of Birmingham and the wider area of the West Midlands, who have taken the initiative to create this charity society (Reg.Charity 1183839) with a view to preserving and promoting  Greek ethics, customs and traditions as we felt the need to stay connected with our culture but equally want to share our culture with the wider multicultural society of UK. Our society responds to the needs of the 80,000-strong Greek community in the West Midlands and also coordinates charitable works and promotes community cohesion and wellbeing through participation of residents, community organisations and academia in our arts and cultural activities.

On this website, you will have a chance to experience first-hand our Greek spirit and honest endeavours to establish an educational and cultural center for Greek history, tradition, philosophy, economy, geopolitics, and Orthodoxy.

Our main office is based at 75 Harborne Road, Edgbaston on the 5th floor (in the office of the Greek consulate). Our weekly classes take place at Ladywood Health & Community Center ( 222 St Vincent St W, Birmingham B16 8RP ), at University of Birmingham (B15 2TT) and at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Apostolos Andreas (8 Arthur Pl, Birmingham, B1 3DA).

Navigate through our website, get involved in our activities, our events and weekly groups. Please feel free to contact us, meet with us in person and become a member of our team.

We hope that our website will take you on a thrilling journey and ultimately lead you to ‘Ithaca.
